!!! UPDATE !!!
TOUR POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 20, 2021
It is with a great deal of regret that the Hammond Kiwanis Club has decided to postpone the 2020 Tour de Tangipahoa bicycle ride until March 20, 2021. After considerable discussion our board of directors decided that it was in the best interest of our members, and most especially our riders, that we reschedule “the tour.” Additionally, there was still some uncertainty whether or not we would be able to use the excellent facilities on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University.
Since 1940 the Hammond Kiwanis Club has served as a force for good in the Hammond area. During the past year alone, the Hammond Kiwanis Club: fed needy families through our holiday food drive; supported public education by sponsoring Terrific Kids and BUGS programs and Perfect Attendance programs; supported Girls State and Boys State; offered activities for the AKTION Club of Hammond; sponsored Key Clubs that encourage leadership and responsibility among teens; provided backpacks filled with food items to young pupils; made needed improvements at the local senior citizen center; sponsored the TARC Christmas party; provided funding for the Boy Scouts and youth athletic teams; participated in the Louisiana State Summer Special Olympics; and said “yes” when called upon from time to time to assist and support various programs that enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve.
Your participation in the Tour de’ Tangipahoa will help assure that the good works of this dedicated and hard-working club will continue.
Thanks to TANGIPAHOA PARISH CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU and ALBERTSON’S for their continued support of the Tour de’ Tangipahoa
